Workers' Compensation
Individuals who are injured in the course and scope of their employment may be entitled to benefits under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act. Injured workers who are covered by the Act are entitled to benefits including the payment of related medical expenses, temporary total disability or temporary partial disability payments, vocational rehabilitation or wage differential payments. The types of benefits awarded through workers’ compensation are unique and specific to these types of cases, and are different from the damages available in a traditional civil case.
The attorneys at Murphy Stoner frequently appear before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, and can assist injured workers in obtaining the benefits to which they are entitled under Illinois law. As experienced civil practitioners, they can also identify whether an injured worker may be able to pursue any civil claims in addition to his or her workers’ compensation case.
